So glad you were able to get the visa! A French lawyer once told me the application wasn't worth the effort...guess you proved him wrong. And thanks so much for mentioning my piece about baguettes :)

Wow! Impressive!

I came to France on a teaching assistant visa. I remember when the agent stamped my visa approval he said "be nice to those kids". It was the best feeling :)

I also remember being in the immigration office in Verdun, after they took my passport, in the waiting room feeling personless. Another memory I'll never forget.

It’s amazing the power that the immigration process can wield. From practical things like entering a country to deeper perceptions like self-worth and identity.

Living/working near Verdun must have been amazing!

We did this EXACT same thing last year - went to Houston for our visa, showed up 15 minutes early, and then were told the office had moved downtown. We reapplied this year and noticed that they still have not changed the location on Google maps!
